Dr Temperance "Bones" Brennan is a forensic anthropologist who when remains are so badly destroyed reads clues left behind in the victims bones to solve cases with the help of love of my life FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz - Angel from Buffy).
So it's a crime show, but mostly focuses on the characters. The murders etc are the secondary plot. And it's wonderful - esp seasons 1-3.
